The Entrance Hall

The front hall was used by family and visitors to the house. Servants and tradesmen had a separate entrance, via a set of granite steps into the basement area. This well lit space is enhanced by a fanlight typical of the late eighteenth century.

Pair Of Irish Hall Chairs

Mahogany hall chairs, decorated with a stylized c-scroll design. Regency circa 1820, probably Irish.

Bust by Benjamin Schrowder

Bust of Benjamin Schrowder (1757 – 1826). A Dublin sculptor. He assisted Edward Smith in carving the heads of the customs house.

Long Case Clock

Clock by Thomas Sanderson, Dublin about 1740, possibly earlier. Brass dial with silvered hour ring. Calendar aperture below.
